Fire Marshall Training Course (half day)
This course will fully equip delegates with the required knowledge to perform the roles of Fire Warden and Marshall; certificates will be issued for your records.
Aspects covered include:
- The Impact of fire on business & society
- Common causes of fire
- Arson risk
- Who is responsible for fire Safety?
- Case studies ‘setting the scene’
- Common causes of fire
- An introduction to fire science
- How fires spread
- Classifications of fire
- Introduction to fire extinguisher identification and selection
- Outside ‘hands-on’ fire extinguisher practical
- Pro-active and reactive roles of the fire Marshall
- Fire & rescue liaison (what will they want to know on arrival)
- Human behaviour in fire, including case studies
- Hazard spotting & risk reduction
- Unwanted fire signal reduction (ie false alarms)
- Employee responsibilities
- Action in the event of fire
- Managing an incident
- How to undertake evacuation drills
- Escape devices
All Fire Marshall Training courses include the provision of a ‘Fire Marshall Pack’ which underpins the course content. Fire Marshall certificates will be valid for two years.
*Staff can experience using a real fire extinguisher by engaging with our environmentally friendly training rigs. We assure there will be no mess and it’s quick to set up and pack away. This will give real confidence in handling and using extinguishers.
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the duties of a fire warden.
- Distinguish between the different types of fire extinguisher and be able to decide which to use.
- Tackle small fires with confidence through “hands-on” training.
- Communicate fire messages effectively to colleagues.
